Prospective authors — and people with work already underway — are welcome to join the Writers' Workshop of the Women’s Club of Glen Ridge. Our new eight-week session will take place Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m. -11:30 a.m. from January 24th to March 21st (no session on Feb. 14) This is a great opportunity to learn from an expert while connecting with others in a supportive, inspiring, small-group setting. Participants may focus on fiction, essays or a memoir.

We are delighted that Judith Lindbergh will be returning as our instructor of writing. Judith is the Founder/Director of The Writers Circle and a teacher of creative writing for all ages. She is an author of historical fiction and her latest novel, Pasture of Heaven, about a nomad woman warrior on the Central Asian steppes in the 5th c. BCE, is forthcoming from Regal House Publishing in spring 2024. Her debut novel, The Thrall’s Tale (Viking/Plume), about three women in the first Viking Age settlement in Greenland, was a Booksense (IndieBound) Pick, a Borders Original Voices Selection and praised by Pulitzer Prize winners Geraldine Brooks and Robert Olen Butler. Her work has appeared in numerous publications including Archaeology Magazine, Edible Jersey, Scandinavian Review, The World & I, Other Voices, and UP HERE: The North at the Center of the World published by University of Washington Press. She also contributed to the Smithsonian Institution’s exhibition Vikings: The Norse Atlantic Saga and was an expert commentator on the History Channel’s documentary series MANKIND: The Story of All of Us. Judith is the Founder/Director of The Writers Circle, a New Jersey-based creative writing center providing workshops and events in person and online.
